How to prevent dry skin in winters ?

The winter season in Pakistan starts from the end of the September and remains till February. Winters are the coldest days of the whole year. The briskly air and frozen temperature in winters makes the climate more dry and rough for our skin. Human’s body and especially skin is very sensitive to cold season.

Winters have extensive impacts on human body and body organs. To keep healthy and stable in winters it is very important to keep your body warm and active. For warm up your body, eat well those things which give you inner furnace. The warm clothes, layer of dresses reduces the coldness.

Winters also brings bulk of dryness to the skin of face, hands & feet. The humidity in the air reduces in winters and it results in dryness of the skin.

Reasons of dryness:

  • The moisture in cold air is less, which results in dryness.
  • Hot water shower leaves your skin itchy, rough and dry.
  • A Warm & Wool clothes leaves your skin itchy and irritable.
  • Sitting more in sunlight, ultra violet rays affects our skin cells badly.

Remedies to cure dryness:


Milk is the best home remedy for treating skin problems. Get little milk from refrigerator soak cloth in the milk and apply it to the skin. It not only moisturize your skin but also smoothens & cleanse your skin.

Grease Up:

For curing itchy and dry skin the best remedy is grease up your skin with a moisturizer that is thick and heavy. It leaves your skin soft and moist.

Milk cream:

Add few drops of lemon juice in 1 tablespoon of milk and 2 tablespoon of milk cream and make a thick paste. Apply this paste on face, hands, feet and legs and leave for 20 minutes. After that, rinse off with water.


Honey & Olive Oil:

Mix few drops of olive oil in 2-3 tablespoons of honey and apply this over the body before taking wash. Leave it on the body for 15 minutes and then take wash.

Coconut Oil:

Apply coconut oil all over the body in the night before sleeping & leave for whole night. Take wash in the morning.


Apply fresh yoghurt on your body for 15-20 minutes and after that take a wash. Yoghurt will leave your body fresh and moist.

Almond Oil:

Almond Oil is very beneficial for your dry skin. Apply warm almond oil on your body for 30 minutes will leave your body soft and moist.
