What is anti-cholesterol diet?

Cardiovascular and other health problems await the rift left by menus too rich in cholesterol and certain fats to come seep into your daily life. To stay healthy, it is important to monitor your diet.

Act 1: Diversify supply

Cholesterol dietNo mystery, it must first of all eat varied. Limited to a category of food is not possible to stay healthy: 5 fruits and vegetables per day, proteins, carbohydrates and lipids but also fast: that is to say fat that must be chosen carefully. We often forget that fat is absolutely essential to a balanced meal. Varied eating is to eat everything, but still no excess!

When you want to eat healthy and avoid increasing its mostly cholesterol, some basic rules must be followed.

Act 2: Emphasize unsaturated fats

You hear every day about the famous unsaturated fats found in vegetable oils such as sunflower, corn, soybean, or olive oil, nuts and seeds of grapes. A large amount of these fats are also found in fish such as the famous Omega 3 and shellfish, food that can be consumed without moderation. Unsaturated fats are used directly to all our organs and functioning of the human body.

Act 3: Avoid excess saturated fats certain

For thirty years, we know that overeating certain saturated fatty acids play an important role in the risk of developing heart disease. Indeed, some saturated fat consumed in excess, can increase the risk of high cholesterol. This excess cholesterol, oxidized, will begin to drop in the arteries to form atherosclerotic plaques responsible for stroke. This is why the overall consumption of fat should not exceed 30 to 35% of total calories, with less than 10% of calories from saturated fat. Concretely, this means that a man should not consume more than 25 g of saturated fat per day, and a woman not more than 21 g.

Therefore avoid excessive meat, fatty meats (beef, pork, lamb) and other foods containing them.

Today, some manufacturers have replaced saturated fats with unsaturated fats in products found in particular within cheeses. Consumed as part of a varied and balanced diet, they help to reduce high cholesterol.
